SUMMARY:Art of Concentration
DESCRIPTION:Philosophy Talk \n6-7 pm: Philosophy Talk by the Speaker\n7-7.30 pm: Interactions over Tea/Coffee with volunteers of New Acropolis Pune \nCharges Rs 200/-\nRegistration link \nAbout the topic – In the rush of busy schedules and endless to-do lists\, it’s easy to lose sight of one of our most valuable contributions: our presence. In the year 1600\, a Tibetan Lama created a painting to teach his disciples about the art of concentration and the process of working with the Mind. What is the important role of concentration according to Tibetan Buddhism\, and what we can learn from this special drawing that can enable us to live a more fulfilling life? Together we will explore concentration as a practical path for inner growth – one that allows us to engage with life more fully and choose with greater clarity. \nTo know more about our introductory Course in Philosophy please visit our website – www.livingphilosophy.in \nTo make the most of this event: \n• Please be there by 5:45pm to meet other Aspiring Philosophers. SUMMARY:Biomimicry - Uniting Philosophy\, Science and Nature (Exhibition\, Talk & Discussion)
DESCRIPTION:18th & 19th April – All Day Exhibition\n19th April\, 5 to 7 pm – Talk & Discussion \nRegistration link (Ticket Rs 200) – https://aelinks.io/imedwb \nCelebrating World Mother Earth Day 2026 \nThis World Mother Earth Day\, New Acropolis Pune will be presenting a two-day exhibition on philosophical\, and scientific themes related to Biomimicry. This will be followed by a conversation with Prashant Dhawan\, an educator\, trainer\, and thought leader in the field of Biomimicry and bio-inspired design. He is co – founder of the Biomimicry India Network. This discussion will be guided by Dr. Shraddha Shetty\, who is a branch manager of New Acropolis Pune.\nNature serves as a perfect example of how scientific principles can be applied to create useful forms that are sustainable\, good for all and beautiful. There are many lessons related to coexistence that we could learn from nature. Could we learn to create space conducive for growth of all life expressions? \nA renowned biologist\, Janine Benyus\, who is also the cofounder of Biomimicry institute defines Biomimicry as a ‘conscious emulation of life’s genius’. If we make a conscious shift from learning ‘about’ life and nature\, to learning ‘from’ life and nature\, we may realize that we ‘are’ life and therefore naturally responsible for its varied expressions . Intentionally emulating ‘natural’ scientific models which have stood the test of time\, would be a practical step forward in this direction of union\, by aligning our daily inventions with the intelligence of life. \nInspired by UV protective compounds in our eyes\, we have developed sunblocks that filters UV rays and protects our skin. Inspired by a woodpecker’s unique shock absorbing anatomy\, engineers have developed shock absorbers for black boxes in air planes\, designed to protect critical flight data from high impact forces. Nature demonstrates many intelligent principles related to beauty\, collaboration and effective communication\, to name a few. Could we make conscious decisions to emulate these principles as well into our human societies? This would mean shifting from ‘human’ centric approach to ‘life’ centric approach. This could put us in harmony with the whole\, with life. \nThis event is part of a global initiative of New Acropolis\, which is an international organization present in more than 50 countries\, to celebrate UN initiative of International Mother earth day. New Acropolis is a school of philosophy\, which promotes culture and practices volunteering. Volunteers of the organization will arrange for a curated ‘walk through’ of the exhibit for groups that may be interested to know more. \n• Walk-in registrations with ticket payment at the door is possible subjective to availability\n• You can always reach out to us on +91 92842 63882 with any queries you may have. \nFollow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/newacropolispune/

DESCRIPTION:Philosophy Talk \n6-7 pm: Philosophy Talk by the Speaker\n7-7.30 pm: Interactions over Tea/Coffee with volunteers of New Acropolis Pune \nCharges Rs 200/-\nRegistration link \nAbout the topic – Who am I? – is a question that makes us wonder about the mysteries that exist within us. Let’s draw inspiration from Arjuna\, the hero of the Mahabharata\, who stayed in the center of battlefield with his fear and doubts\, seeking answers about his true identity. SUMMARY:The Heroic Way – Lessons from Mythologies
DESCRIPTION:Life becomes an adventure when we realize that we are the protagonists of our own lives. If we take charge of our lives\, perhaps we will stop blaming the circumstances that we face in our lives and deal with them and grow through it. \nWhether it was Saint George slaying the dragon\, Theseus subduing the Minotaur\, or Durga defeating Mahishasura\, symbolically there is always a protagonist in these mythologies – a hero who would emerge victorious against the beast. The clues\, then\, to develop this heroic attitude to deal with our challenges and emerge victorious in our daily lives\, would also come from these mythologies. Let us explore the hidden keys to taking charge of our lives through the ancient mythologies. \nEntry Charges – Rs 200 \nClick to register

SUMMARY:Stoics – On Building Trust
DESCRIPTION:The ability to trust displays the inner strength of an individual who is okay with being vulnerable and taking risks\, whether in relationships or daily life choices. Growth requires us to move into the unknown\, and there is always a chance that we may face disappointments. How can we be stronger and discern whom to trust and how much? Trust isn’t about being ‘naive’\, but maybe it is about intelligently working with truth. With trust in life\, in ourselves\, and in others\, we could build more confidence in moving forward towards growth in life. \nStoic philosophy directs our gaze inwards by focusing on self-control and developing the attitude of openness and trust.  Join us as we explore the keys to rebuilding trust the Stoic Way! \nEntry Charges – Rs 200 \nClick to register

SUMMARY:Exploring the Symbolism of Masks - Celebrating Day of Arts 2025
DESCRIPTION:Presentation and Workshop\nCharges – 500 Rs\nBook your ticket here – https://tinyurl.com/ykw8syxy \nOn 21st June we invite you for a presentation and workshop specially curated for you to explore the symbolism behind masks. Masks are widely used in performing arts. Have we ever wondered about its deeper meaning? \nWhether it is theatre\, dance\, rituals or sacred ceremonies – masks has served as symbols across civilizations\, that conceal the mystery that is man. In Balinese tradition masks took on a sacred meaning\, where the dancer or performer had to undergo a purification process before wearing the mask ceremonially. In theatre ‘masks’ help the actor get into character. In certain African tribes\, masks were used to help communicate with ancestral spirits. In Ancient Egypt it is said that masks briefly helped the priests to temporarily embody the quality of the deity which they were trying to depict. In today’s times we sometimes interpret it as pretending to be someone we are not. \nWhat is the mask made of? In Latin the word ‘ persona’ means mask. We all carry different personalities i.e. different ‘masks’ as we engage in this stage called life. May be masks invite us to engage with the philosophical question ‘Who am I who is wearing the mask?’
