It is believed that the flight of a bird inspired the Wright brothers to invent the airplane. The invention of Velcro was inspired from burrs. There are numerous inventions that were inspired from nature. On 5th Aug 2017, New Acropolis main centre Colaba conducted a lecture to explore and dive deeper to understand how we can consistently learn and be inspired from nature.

It was suggested that the study of “Biomimicry” which has been hugely successful in disruptive innovation to solve engineering, architectural and medicinal problems, has the potential to offer clues to work with the larger “human” problems that we face today.

Some schools of thought say that what sets humans apart from nature is the ability to discern and make choices. The talk investigated how we can emulate and take inspiration from nature for its virtues of kindness, generosity and peaceful co-existence, to make better and more sustainable choices.

The talk was attended by 46 guests.
