It is said that the smallest decisions are the most difficult in life. On 10th March, New Acropolis India, Colaba conducted a talk titled “Daring to Choose” to explore some of these pertinent questions that relate to choice and the concept of freedom. The interactive session involved participants listing out reasons why they found it difficult to choose, which in turn were discussed and reflected upon through the lecture. Citing examples of various research studies conducted on factors influencing human choice, it was proposed that often the fact that we need to choose creates a fear of losing our freedom, thus holding us back from taking decisions. Through the lecture it was suggested that if we remain true to ourself, the choices we make will not be based out of our desires and will be clearer and easier to make.
