Delia Steinberg Guzmán, after the death of the founder, Professor Jorge Ángel Livraga in 1991, was elected International President of New Acropolis, taking charge of the management and coordination of the cultural and educational work of New Acropolis in all the countries in which this International Association is established.

Delia Steinberg Guzmán was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1943. In 1972 she moved to Spain and in 1975 was granted Spanish nationality.

Studies and Diplomas

She began her musical studies in childhood, and at the age of seventeen she graduated as a Professor of Piano and Composition from the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires.
For several years she studied with the Argentine pianist Flora Nudelman and later with the Russian maestro Hubert Brandenburg.
She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires.
Her interest in culture and education as a means of personal fulfillment led her to continue studying other disciplines, taking specialized courses in Archaeology, History, History of Music, Bioenergetic Medicine and other natural therapies.

Musical Activities

At the age of ten she gave her first public concert and since then she has often been selected to perform in piano cycles organized by different entities and organizations, such as the Christian Association of Young People, Young Argentine Concert Artists, Ateneo de Cultura Artística, Nuevos Valores Musicales, Asociación Harmonicus, Subsecretariat of Culture of the Ministry of Education of the Argentine Republic, Musical Promotions and others, both public and private.

He has given numerous concerts in different venues, as well as on radio and television, both in Argentina and in other countries in America, having received excellent reviews in the press.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the death of Maurice Ravel and together with other artists and journalists, he participated in the tribute to the deceased musician, held by the Argentine Center of Engineers, on July 7, 1967.

In order to promote musical studies with international projection, he founded the Tristán Musical Institute in 1988, where he teaches piano classes. Today, the Tristán Institute operates in Spain, Brazil, France, Israel and Germany with important teaching activities.

Since then he has been leading courses on Musical Appreciation in Spain, including courses on the works of JS Bach, WA Mozart, R. Wagner, F. Chopin and R. Schumann.

In order to promote new talents in music, she founded the International Piano Competition that bears her name in 1982, and she served on the Jury, thereby promoting the artistic careers of young music professionals. The Delia Steinberg International Piano Competition is held annually in Madrid (Spain) and is attended by young pianists from all over the world.

Teaching and Research

In 1966, she began to follow the complete curriculum of the School of Philosophy of the International Organization New Acropolis under the guidance of its founder, Professor Jorge Ángel Livraga . She later joined the teaching staff of this institution as a professor, teaching the subjects of History of Philosophy, Moral Philosophy, Symbology, History of Religions, Philosophy of the East, Psychology, Metaphysical Aesthetics, Oratory and in general, all those included in the Study Program of the entity, also preparing the pedagogical orientation manuals on these subjects.

She has also expanded her teaching activities with training courses for other teachers and educators from New Acropolis.

She has given courses, conferences and seminars in different countries in Europe, America and Asia on topics such as “Ancient civilizations and their common points”, “Pain and its causes”, “Esoteric traditions on the origin of man and the universe”, “The keys to Astrology”, “Philosophy for living”, “Youthful angst”, “Astrology and psychology”, “Egypt: Thought, life and religion”, “The initiatory path of Santiago”, “The legacy of the Templars”, “The metaphysical beauty of women”, “Tradition and time”, “Music therapy”, Chromotherapy, etc.

Since 1977 and for 25 editions, he has created and promoted a Literary Short Story Contest in Spain, participating as a member of the jury alongside important figures in literary narrative.

From 1972 to 1991, she was the director of New Acropolis in Spain, a period during which the cultural activity of this institution extended to more than thirty cities in the country.

During this time he promoted teaching and research activities in several areas:

For children and adolescents: Camps, excursions, storytelling, introductory workshops on philosophy as an educational tool, etc.

Comprehensive Medicine and Therapy Offices, with ongoing training and research programs for Doctors, Health Technicians, therapists, etc., with workshops taught by prestigious professionals on Acupuncture, Laser Therapy, Homeopathy, Magnetotherapy, Bioenergetics, etc.

Social action: Volunteer training courses and workshops, with active participation in ecology programs, social assistance, assistance in accidents and catastrophes, animal shelters, etc., in collaboration with official organizations.

All of them with national and international repercussions.

From 1975 to 1991, she was also coordinator of New Acropolis activities in Europe. After the death of the founder, Professor Jorge Ángel Livraga in 1991, she was elected International President of New Acropolis, taking charge of the management and coordination of the cultural and educational work of New Acropolis in all the countries where this International Association is established.

She died in Mallorca in 2023.

Publications

She has published many articles in magazines and newspapers on topics related to philosophy, music, history and culture in general.

In 1972 she founded and continues to direct the Spanish magazine “Cuadernos de Cultura” (Cultural Notebooks) in which she wrote many articles and serials on a theme, such as “Between Ourselves”, “At the End of the Day “, “A Story to Tell”, and “Let’s Ask Ourselves…” – dedicated to promoting the practical application of philosophy in daily life.

Since 2000, she also has also been editor of the cultural magazine “Sphinx”, which is published throughout Spain and in various countries in Latin America.

Published Books and Manuals

She has written more than thirty books and manuals on Practical Philosophy, Psychology, Ancient Civilizations, Astrology, etc. All of them published in Spanish and translated into French, English, German, Turkish, Russian, Czech, Portuguese, Greek and other languages.

Since 1995, she has directed the publication of a Yearbook containing the Report of Activities of New Acropolis in all the numerous countries where it has delegations and which reflects the direct action and participation that the Organization has in society, in the fields of culture, ecology, music, medicine, martial arts and social issues, with the spirit of unity and diversity that characterizes it, and in whose promotion and realization it has been working for more than forty years.

The Annual Report of Activities is published in Spanish and English and distributed worldwide, both privately and institutionally.
