Home to one of the largest and most ancient civilizations of the world, ancient Egypt has left behind a rich legacy which continues to be mysterious to us even today. On 28 July 2018 New Acropolis Colaba (Main Center) hosted a talk titled “Invisible Egypt” to explore some of the important philosophical concepts of ancient Egypt and their relevance in our time.
Using examples from art, architecture and mythology it was proposed that living an ethical life was at the center of ancient Egyptian society. Recognition of the invisible cause for the visible effect and connecting with that force was the aim of this civilization. Using illustrations and concepts such as those of the Pyramids, the famous “Papyrus of Ani” depicting the “weighing of the heart ceremony” it was explained that virtues such as justice and sacredness were an integral part of their day to day.
