On Saturday, 8th March 2025, New Acropolis Pune hosted a talk titled “Restoring Health through Equilibrium,” led by Shraddha Shetty, the Branch Manager of New Acropolis Pune.

During the session, Shraddha Shetty herself a medical professional, shared a philosophical lens to what is known today in the medical and scientific fields regarding the emergence of diseases.

She explained that illness is often the result of internal disharmony and imbalances within ourselves. Drawing inspiration from the ancient symbol of the Caduceus, which features two intertwined snakes and wings, Shetty emphasized the significance of balance and temperance in life. The two snakes represent the need for harmony, while the wings symbolize elevation towards our higher self—a direction that guides us toward balance and equilibrium.

The speaker stressed that in order to restore balance in life, one must have a clear direction. This direction can be found through the “meaning of life,” which leads us to engage in actions that are meaningful and helps us discern what is truly important. Understanding our true nature is the first step toward restoring balance in all aspects of life—physical, mental, and emotional. Philosophy, she shared, serves as a powerful tool for self-discovery, offering wisdom about life’s laws and helping us align with them to achieve equilibrium.

The session was marked by an engaging Q&A session and to add a fun and thoughtful touch to the evening, the member volunteers of New Acropolis Pune organized a ‘Wheel of Virtues’ activity, inviting participants to spin the wheel and learn about a particular virtue. The activity provided an interactive experience where participants reflected on the virtues that came to them, further enriching the discussion.
