Investigating Tagore’s Search for Truth and Beauty

On 14th September 2019, the Culture Circle of New Acropolis, hosted an event titled ‘Celebrating Tagore through Poetry, Song and Dance’. Bharatanatyam exponent Ms. Vandana Alase Hazra shared her own investigation of Rabindranath Tagore’s work, including excerpts from ‘Phagun’, ‘Varsha Ritu’ and ‘Shishu’, showcasing Tagore’s view on the relationship between Truth and Beauty, as well as his emphasis on nature as an essential component of his model of education.
Vandana was trained under Shri T.V. Sounderrajan and is deeply inspired and influenced by dancer Mandakini Trivedi. She has been practicing Bharatanatyam for over four decades, performing all over the country at various prestigious festivals.

The Culture Circle, presented by New Acropolis,explores the diverse expressions of Culture through a series of intimate and interactive monthly events, in an attempt to revive the spiritual essence that forms the basis of all classical arts.
