New Acropolis recently commemorated the 18th anniversary of its founding in India. New Acropolis Pune Branch  started with some early celebrations  to coincide with Diwali festivities and were joined by National Director Yaron Barzilay and Mumbai Center branch manager Sivan Barzilay for the occasion.

Amidst a vividly decorated centre with rangoli and lights to honor this special gathering, Yaron spoke about the importance of building a philosophical companionship as a means for aspiring philosophers to support each other. Philosophy he reminded is not a subject but  a way of life.  Members put together a rendition of the song “The power of love is here now” to mark the special evening which culminated with a fraternity dinner.

At the Main centre in Mumbai,  while reminiscing early days,  The National Director reminded members of the meaning behind the word “Acropolis” or higher city and what it means to put philosophy at the centre of our lives and integrate with timeless values. Members  presented a variety of performances through music, art,  a shadow play, all using the metaphor of a seed transforming into a tree, marked by a strong sense of sharing the path in the light of a common higher goal. A festive cake and toast followed by a dinner marked the evening’s celebrations.
