Taking a mid-day break from their busy schedules on Thursday, 26th of July 2018, volunteers of New Acropolis (Main Centre) visited ADAPT, a quaint school for the differently-abled in Navy Nagar (Colaba) to celebrate the spirit of Raksha Bandhan. Raksha Bandhan is an annual festival celebrating the fraternal spirit by tying different colored threads, a rakhi, around the wrist as a form of protection and well being.

The rakhi making activity organised by the Social Responsibility Department of New Acropolis, generated a lot of excitement and interest amongst the children. It was also a great learning experience for the volunteers as they understood the challenges the children face and the strengths they display to overcome them in their daily life.

Both volunteers and participants demonstrated and experienced for themselves the most important significance of Raksha Bandhan, of universal brotherhood, a beautiful and meaningful connection that each one of us can forge, making our world a better place.
