New Acropolis main center at Colaba hosted a talk on 10th June, 2017 titled ” An Evening with Tagore”. Rabindranath Tagore is well known as a poet, writer, composer, artist and playwright, this evening explored the source of his inspiration in the arts; his life and work as a philosopher.
The lecture reached out to the concepts of ethics, fraternity and the human journey through Tagore’s literary work. Through a recitation and investigation of his poetry the lecturer alluded to a connect with these principles.
Tagore’s simplistic style, conveys his philosophical journey and inspires readers to look beyond perceptions. The lecture also showcased that though written more than a hundred years ago Tagore’s works remain relevant even today as an inspiration to a simpler, more meaningful life.
Rabindranath Tagore was awarded Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 and Indian President Pranab Mukherjee once commented that “Rabindranath Tagore’s literary legacy will always endure the passage of time” a testament to the impact of his work!
