The book Perseus: The Warrior of Peace’ draws inspiration from the Greek myth of the heroic Perseus, who achieves the seemingly impossible by killing the serpent-haired Medusa, who’s eyes could turn her onlookers into stone. Perhaps there a hero within us, that can be readied to confront and conquer the vices that may exist within ourselves. According to the author, the way to profound happiness is through this quest of mastery over oneself. Join us as we dive into this book in which he enlists inner rules for such a battle and highlights the inner weapons, like daring, art of adaptation, mental clarity etc.   that each of us  can develop, in order to face our daily challenges with the spirit of a peaceful warrior.

Let’s Live: Learning to Concentrate

In the book ‘Concentration & Inner Awakening’, author Fernand Schwarz shares a roadmap on how we can develop the art of concentration. Our mind is constantly pacing at a lightning speed, thinking of the future, replaying events of the past, jumping from one thing to another, making concentration a challenge. Based on a painting drawn by a learned Lama, the book shares some practical tools to tame the confused mind, and tips to develop self-control. Join us as we read from this book together, and extract learning’s from ancient Tibetan wisdom.

Let’s Live: Reviving the Spirit of the Samurai!

While in the very act of fighting a ferocious battle, it is said that the Samurai were able to recite beautiful poetry. At their prime, this warrior people of Japan were driven not by greed, hate, or lust, but by a beautiful code of conduct called Bushido, that required them to develop virtues such as Justice, Courage, and Mercy. In fact, their expert skill is often attributed to their inner strength of character. Can we revive the much relevant ‘spirit of Bushido’ in our times? Join us as we read excerpts from  ‘Bushido – the Soul of Japan’ authored by Inazo Nitobe.
