A group of 32 members and friends of New Acropolis embarked on an exploration of Ancient Egypt as a part of the pilot of a new initiative by New Acropolis called “Traveling Beyond” Explorations. The exploration was a 10 day journey to Ancient Egyptian sites including many sites off the tourist circuit.
The travel included a cruise on the river Nile, tracing a path of a civilization which flourished with this vibrant river as its lifeline. For this group of aspiring philosophers, this reflective study trip aptly titled “Traveling Beyond” was to try to grasp the deeper meanings that underlies the wonders of this ancient civilization.
The group studied the meticulously carved monuments and temples, and set them against the historical backdrop which was patiently explained by an expert egyptologist guide who accompanied the group. This was complemented with the symbolism and meaning of the visually remarkable sights by senior members and teachers of New Acropolis. The travel was replete with lighter moments and spirited conversations while marveling the sunset from the open deck of the Nile cruise.
It was truly a journey of aspiring philosophers building deeper human connections, in a mysterious land which carries the untold stories of thousands of years of civilization. In Egypt, they found not only relics of a bygone era, but also echoes of timeless wisdom.
