New Acropolis Pune hosted a cultural event titled ‘A Journey Within – The Sacred Art of Ragas’ on a cozy sunday morning of 28 December at our center in Koregaon Park. We hosted Kalyani Deshpande who is a renowned sitarist in Pune and currently learning under her guru Shri. Chandrshekhar Rande himself disciple of U.Shahid Parvez Khan.
It was an intimate gathering for members, aspirants, and their friends and family.
The morning was immersed in the beauty of morning ragas allowing a meditative experience for all participants. Shraddha Shetty, branch manager of New Acropolis Pune, engaged in conversation with the sitarist during the performance.
In the conversation, the sitarist shared her philosophical insights through the journey of music, and how music is not just entertainment for her, but a journey inwards towards our true self. The morning offered a few moments to move beyond the rush of everyday life and enter into a space where music turns into an insight and art becomes a doorway to wisdom.>>
