On 27 July 20204 New Acropolis Main Centre  conducted a workshop based talk titled Discovering my Centre : Lessons from Mandala.
The talk delved into the profound principles of the ancient practice and art form of Mandala, offering participants a journey into self-discovery and personal growth. The session began with an exploration of the key principles behind Mandala, starting with their origins and the meaning of the name itself, which in Sanskrit means “circle.” A Mandala is traditionally understood as a diagram representing the creation of the universe, symbolizing the idea that everything in nature has a center.
Participants were also introduced to the principle of “life in movement” highlighting the unity that can be found within the diversity and multiplicity of life. The workshop emphasized the importance of knowing oneself and encouraging attendees to connect with their own lives and reflect on what lies at the centre of their everyday life.
The facilitator explained that, in moments when we feel lost in the periphery of life’s demands and distractions, maintaining a strong connection to our inner centre can provide clarity and stability. This concept was linked to the values of the “Inner Acropolis”, a metaphorical space representing the ideals and principles that one chooses to place at the core of their life.
Through the workshop, participants engaged in exercises designed to enhance concentration and foster the ability to see the whole picture without losing sight of the centre. These exercises culminated in constructing one’s own Mandala, where each participant illustrated what they wished to place at the centre of their life, creating a representation of their inner world.

The workshop provided a meaningful opportunity for participants to explore Philosophy as a way of life – a journey of discovering one’s inner centre, and reflecting on values they would like to live by.
