It is often said that Health is not merely the absence of illness, but a state of physical, mental and social well being. New Acropolis main centre hosted Dr Shraddha Shetty branch manager of New Acropolis Pune and Head of Seraphis Centre of new medicine in India, for a talk titled Symbol of Caduceus: Restoring health through Equilibrium.
The speaker shared how true health is achieved by aligning with the laws of nature. Using examples of various mechanisms of the human body she explained the body’s natural ability to adapt and maintain balance while growing at the same time.
Building on this idea, she introduced the symbol of the Caduceus to emphasise the dynamic balance between flexibility and stability necessary for health. The talk highlighted the importance of recognising our own stressors which sets of imbalances, and while doctors can help this process and manage symptoms, each individual has a personal responsibility for conquering their own equilibrium and health.
The discussion also touched on the psyche, urging people to understand their core nature and set meaningful internal goals. By maintaining a constant direction in thoughts and emotions, and learning to adapt and integrate circumstances which are not in our control, individuals can better navigate life’s challenges and achieve overall well-being. Dis – ease which manifests in our bodies, perhaps gives us a clue on what within us we need to pay attention to, what we need to bring back in proportion, in order for us to regain our equilibrium and therefore our health.
