On 15 August 2020, the Culture Circle of New Acropolis India organized an online event titled “Learning to listen-an evening of Jazz with musician Zubin Balaporia”. The speaker took the participants on a musical journey, exploring the evolution of Jazz from its origins to present times. The talk explored the concepts of melody, rhythm and harmony in Jazz music through renditions of iconic pieces and suggested, how each one of us can learn to enjoy this music form by training ourselves to listen attentively.
Zubin Balaporia is an Indian music director and keyboard player of the popular Indian Rock band Indus Creed. He has worked in the music industry for Films and Television for over 30 years.
