Living Authentically 1

In a quest to navigate the complexities of identity in today’s rapidly changing world,  New Acropolis Main Centre hosted a public talk on 16 March 20204 titled “Living Authentically an Encounter with Buddha and Socrates.”

Drawing from the profound teachings of these two iconic figures, participants engaged in a dialogue aimed at understanding the essence of self amidst the fast past life we lead.

The event commenced with an introspective exercise prompting participants to look within- sparking a discussion about the many roles that each of us play and the multiple hats we all wear.

Delving deeper into the philosophical realms, attendees explored Socrates’s famous assertion, “All I know is that i  know nothing,” setting the stage for an inquiry into the fundamental question: Who Am I ?”.

Transitioning to the life and teachings of Buddha, participants delved into the concept of self-discovery through walking the middle path, seeking harmony and balance.

Participants engaged in another practical exercise fostering dialogue around various identities and discerning the “real me” amidst the cacophony of roles and personas. The discussion culminated in few practical tips like philosophy as a way of life to learn to prioritize based on one’s authentic identity, offering a compass for navigating the complexities of modern life.
