“Love is our life” ~ Da Ra Bendre
Join us in conversation with poet and translator Madhav Ajjampur. He brings us his English translations of Da Ra Bendre, hailed as the varakavi (heaven-touched poet) of 20th-century Kannada literature.
Madhav Ajjampur, is the author of ‘The Pollen Waits On Tiptoe‘ a collection of his English translations of selected Bendre poems. In this session, he will speak about his journey with Bendre’s poetry, discuss Bendre’s place in world literature, and present some of Bendre’soriginal poems and their English translations.
