In celebration of International Mother Earth Day 2025, the Pune Branch of New Acropolis hosted a special event titled “Building Harmony through Diversity” at the Empress Botanical Garden on 20th April 2025. The initiative was organized in collaboration with the Rupa Rahul Bajaj Centre for Environment & Art (RRBCEA) and The Grasslands Trust.

The day commenced with an orientation by Shraddha Shetty, Branch Manager of New Acropolis Pune, who introduced the global significance of International Mother Earth Day, a celebration observed by New Acropolis across more than 50 countries. Her address set the tone for the day, emphasizing the importance of unity and ecological responsibility.

Participants then engaged in a community clean-up activity within the botanical garden, organized in teams and led by New Acropolis volunteers. The initiative aimed to promote environmental stewardship and hands-on contribution to the local ecosystem.

Following refreshments, Vishwatej Pawar, co-founder of The Grasslands Trust, delivered an insightful presentation on “Biodiversity & Symbiosis in Nature.” He illustrated how various species adapt to their environments through physical features like wings, beaks, and claws, and explained the interconnectedness of natural ecosystems. Pawar also outlined his organization’s efforts in habitat restoration, wolf conservation, and grassland protection, underscoring the use of modern technology in conservation efforts.

The event concluded with a philosophical talk by Shraddha Shetty on “Laws of Nature & Our Role.” She spoke about nature as an intrinsic aspect of all beings and encouraged attendees to explore their inner values of beauty and altruism for harmonious coexistence. She stressed the importance of philosophical education in fostering deeper understanding and more responsible interaction with the natural world.

The event brought together environmentalists, volunteers, and nature enthusiasts to reflect on humanity’s relationship with Earth and explore practical steps toward ecological balance.
