On Saturday, 15th February 2020, New Acropolis (Khar Branch) hosted a talk titled ‘Make your Life Count: Tips from Emperor Marcus Aurelius’. Using excerpts from the published diary of Stoic Emperor Marcus Aurelius, the speaker highlighted the importance of learning to respond, rather than react, to the circumstances of Life, thereby exercising one’s inner Freedom.

To do so, it was proposed that there is a need to discover the limitations of the body, the traps of emotions that might cloud our judgment, and the tendency of circular thoughts and conditioned opinions. By taming these aspects of the personality, perhaps, one might really live a just life, rather that fall to survival.
