While Albert Einstein is known for his work as a Theoretical Physicist, few know that his philosophical bent of mind had a profound impact on the way he approached his work in Physics. To understand Albert Einstein the philosopher, New Acropolis (Main Centre) hosted a talk titled “ A meeting with Albert Einstein” on 12 January 2019.
Using various examples from Einstein’s life, the speaker suggested that what we know of Einstein through his discoveries is only a small expression of his approach of wonder towards phenomena and the perseverance to connect with the laws of life.
Einstein said “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”. The talk proposed how we ourselves as “students of life” can effect a similar shift in our own attitude. The lecture observed, that looking at Philosophy, Science and Life as separate entities or subjects would prevent us from seeing the truth and wonder of life.
