On 5th October 2024, New Acropolis hosted a Blood Donation Drive at its main centre in collaboration with Masina Hospital.
The drive was led by aspiring philosophers from the introductory Living Philosophy course who came together in the pursuit of making a difference through Philosophy in action. The drive recorded a collection of 45 units of blood by attendees who donated with their sleeves up and hearts out in service.
The volunteers of New Acropolis also hosted the donors post the collection to ensure replenished energy levels with freshly made snacks, refreshments while offering some inspiration.
In addition to the needed support provided to replenish the blood bank, the spirit with which the drive was conducted demonstrated that Philosophy – far from an intellectual pursuit – can offer a way to live life more consciously and meaningfully. Collective action can lead to significant change, making a profound impact on the lives of individuals and families in need.
