Members of  New Acropolis together with volunteers came together on 6 August 2023, to celebrate the International Day for Conservation of Mangroves through a planting event at the Colaba Mangroves. This initiative, building upon previous clean-up efforts, marked the first instance of planting native mangrove saplings to aid in restoration. Mangrove forests offer numerous benefits such as carbon sequestration, acting as a barrier between sea and land, and providing a habitat for over 700 organisms.

Through this activity, the volunteers attempted to play their part in counteracting the negative impacts on this delicate ecosystem caused by human activities. The event commenced with an informative session at the Colaba Centre, educating participants about the significance of mangrove ecosystems, followed by an on-site observation and involvement in planting 25 saplings. The event saw the participation of 30 individuals, including 10 schoolchildren from the local community.
