Over 17th and 19th December 2015, members of New Acropolis (Mumbai) and several active citizens of Colaba came together to paint a wall and bring some beauty and inspiration to the community. The word “Asha” (Hope) was painted in the Devnagri script as a continuation of a previous project where the adjacent wall was painted with the word “Hope”.

Originally an unkempt corner close to a garbage dump, the Hope wall motivated the participation of the local organisations like the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation), Colaba Advance Locality Management (CALM) and My Dream Colaba (MDC) to remove the dumpster and replace it with a vertical garden.

New Acropolis is looking to take on many such projects in the future, with the goal of encouraging people to keep their surroundings clean and to serve as a reminder that each of us has the ability to bring hope into our own lives and our surroundings.
