Volunteers of New Acropolis Main Centre organised a workshop and sapling plantation at Jog garden in the Colaba area of Mumbai on 12 June 2022 in association with Emerald Sustainable Foundation and the BMC. Over 500 saplings were planted over 4 days using the Miyawaki technique .
Participants were taken through the entire process from bed preparation, to plantation and learnt why this Japanese technique helps build dense, fast growing forests that are most suited to our urban needs today.
New Acropolis will now look after the upkeep of this area and also conduct plantation in other parts of the city.
