On the 11th of May 2019, over 40 Members and Friends of New Acropolis gathered for a talk by National Director Yaron Barzilay titled “Arjuna and I” at the Main Centre (Colaba).
Speaking on the importance of culture in our lives, the speaker proposed it as a tool which can allow us to work to a revival of ancient wisdom and values by living a purposeful life.
Taking inspiration from the heroism of Arjuna in the Mahabharata, the speaker drew attention to the deep philosophy outlined in the Bhagavad Gita as applicable in our lives today. The talk proposed that each one of us has the option and the opportunity to develop the hero within us. We too can overcome our own inner battles, overcoming our vices, by using our virtues as our most powerful weapons. By engaging with the Kurukshetra of our daily life we can emerge victorious like Arjuna !
The talk was followed by a delicious dinner prepared by the Friends and Members of New Acropolis.
