The New Acropolis Center in Mumbai participated at the Kala Ghoda Festival 2015, via an interactive installation, ‘The Wheel of Virtue – Discover-Awaken-Transform’. The installation is based on an Acropolis International theme.

The front of the installation was in the form of a large, colorful spinning wheel – 8 feet in height, with 20 virtues written in English and Hindi, while the back contained the definitions of each of the virtues on a white board. The virtues encapsulated everyday themes of determination, honesty, generosity, courage, fraternity and 15 such others

Festival-goers were invited to spin the wheel, and led to the back where the virtue was explained to them. It was then suggested to practice the virtue for the next 24 hours. It was explained that the point behind the exercise was to understand that that each of the virtues already exists within us, and most importantly that we are capable of living these virtues by being observant and attentive to them.

The installation had a constant flow of visitors through the 9 days of the festival from 7th to 15th February 2015 and was manned by volunteers from the center for the entire duration of the festival.

The Kalaghoda Arts Festival is held every year for 9 days usually in the months of January or February in the Kalaghoda Area of South Mumbai. The festival is arguably the largest multi-cultural festival held in the country and attracts participation from across India. the Festival was held between 7th and 15th February 2015 and serviced over 150,000 visitors during it course.
