On 15th September 2018, New Acropolis (Khar Branch) hosted a public lecture titled “Man’s role in the Universe”. The presentation began with a short video of a collage of photographs that captured the vastness and beauty of the universe. And this prompted the investigation – how might we, as human beings who are able to grasp this natural order, align with the harmony of the cosmos? Ancient traditions offer the understanding that Man is in reality a complex entity comprising a temporary formal aspect, and an eternal formless aspect; each driven by opposing needs. Harmonizing these two aspects, as if tuning oneself to the harmony of the universe is perhaps the ultimate purpose of the human being.
