International Mother Earth Day has been celebrated globally on 22 April every year since its adoption in 2009 by the United Nations General Assembly. New Acropolis India marked this event with an overnight trip to “Manav Bustan”, a 11 acre centre amidst nature on 9th April 2022. This is the first of three events hosted by New Acropolis India, as part of a global commemoration of this occasion in over 60 countries as a contribution to the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration.
Members spent their time in the midst of nature in carefully curated activities such as sapling planting, composting and learning about the rich biodiversity that the Earth offers us and the role we can play to maintain and enhance the harmony between nature and our planet.
Keeping nature as the constant inspiration, members spent a fun filled trip also using the time to also reflect on the ideals and virtues we, as philosophers on the path, aspire to bring into our daily lives.
Watch-out for two of our upcoming events in Mumbai and Pune towards this day.
