Talk & Performance by Classical Violinist Sumanth Manjunath, accompanied by percussionist Ganesh Murali Iyer

In the Indian Classical Music tradition, music reflects Nature’s rhythms, patterns and cycles. New Acropolis invites you for an evening of Music and Philosophy where violinist Sumanth explores this deep connection. Through a talk and performance, we will explore how our own human conversations have a rhythm; and how certain classical ragas are not just inspired by nature, but in a sense, are able to communicate with nature. The evening will conclude with a performance, specially composed by Sumanth to celebrate this evening.

Born into a distinguished lineage of Carnatic masters, Sumanth Manjunath represents a powerful blend of tradition and contemporary expression. Trained in the revered Mysore violin tradition by his grandfather Sri Mahadevappa, uncle Vidwan Mysore Nagaraj, and father Dr. Mysore Manjunath, his foundation is deeply rooted in classicism. He has performed at prestigious festivals such as the Tansen Festival and Dum Dum Classical Music Festival. He was also honoured to perform at Rashtrapati Bhavan for the Presidents of India and Indonesia, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has also performed at 37 major festivals and venues across Europe. He serves as the Cultural President of Seilerei, a Cultural Centre in Frankfurt.
