New Acropolis Pune Branch hosted a talk titled “Finding Stability amidst Change” on Saturday 1 June 2024, drawing a crowd of 33 eager participants. The session, led by Shraddha Shetty, Branch Manager of New Acropolis Pune shed more light on the profound concept of ‘impermanence’, drawing wisdom from Buddha’s teachings and the Stoic Philosophers Seneca and Marcus Aurelius. Highlighting the relevance of the “Eightfold Path” starting with ‘Right View’, the speaker underscored the importance of embracing changing circumstances without seeking to control them, advocating instead for freedom of choice.

Practical strategies for achieving stability amidst flux were elucidated through a four-step approach. Participants were encouraged to formulate clear life goals, align their actions towards these objectives, engage in introspection, and cultivate discipline in their daily lives.

Emphasising the pursuit of stability as a personal journey enriched by experiences, the talk concluded with Khalil Gibran’s poignant poem” Do not live a half life”. The verse deeply urging individuals to wholeheartedly embrace the quest for stability.

The talk also served as a preview for New Acropolis Pune’s upcoming flagship 16-week Living Philosophy course commencing this June, promising further exploration into philosophical wisdom and practical applications.
