New Acropolis Pune Branch hosted a talk titled What is a Balanced Life? Wisdom of Confucius on 4 April 2026, conducted by Bhargavi Thorve and Shreyas Bhat, instructors and volunteers of New Acropolis Pune. The talk was the final session of a series of five talks titled Exploring Questions of Life.

The session explored the teachings of Confucius presenting them as timeless principles that continue to offer guidance for leading a balanced and meaningful life.

The speakers highlighted the influence of Confucian thought over more than two millennia, through key ideas such as Tian (divine law), Li (order), and Jing (reverence). They explained how order exists at all levels—within the universe, nature, and human life—and how maintaining this order is essential for balance and harmony. The talk proposed how a disruption to this order creates imbalance, followed by an effort to restore equilibrium.

The speakers emphasised that a lasting sense of balance in life arises when individuals align their thoughts and actions with such a steady and guiding principle.

Drawing from The Analects, a classical collection of sayings attributed to Confucius, the session included reflections on harmony and self-cultivation, encouraging participants to develop inner awareness and care for one’s own growth.

At New Acropolis similar talks examine the importance of consciously nurturing this higher principle within oneself as central to achieving unity and balance in life.
