New Acropolis Pune Branch hosted a talk titled “Who Am I? Lessons from Arjuna”  on 21st February 2026. This talk was part of the ongoing “Exploring the Questions of Life” series.  Introducing the central theme of the series, the speaker presented “Natural Philosophy” by introducing the universal human quest to understand life’s fundamental questions “Who am I?” and “Where do we come from?”

Acknowledging that understanding oneself, first requires us to know ourselves better and that both eastern and Western Philosophy have proposed different models to  interpret and explain various aspects of our human existence.

Drawing from the Mahabharata, the speaker narrated how Arjuna’s dilemma on the battlefield becomes a mirror for our own inner conflicts. The seemingly unlimited Kauravas symbolise our many temporary tendencies while the Pandavas symbolise our lasting virtues. Through relatable daily life examples the speaker drew parallels with the mythology to explain its relevance to modern life.

Excerpts from the Bhagavad Gita were explained and shared to emphasize the importance of Sankhya (knowledge) and Yoga (action) and how by aligning our action with wisdom, we can cultivate inner stability.

The evening provided not just philosophical insights, but an invitation to  “Living Philosophy” .
