Over Forty participants attended an engaging event at New Acropolis Pune Branch on28 June 2026 titled “The Magic of Flowers – Philocafe & Workshops,” hosted by aspiring students of the Living Philosophy Introductory course as part of their social project.
The programme began with sharing of various myths and folklore surrounding flowers such as the lily, rose, marigold, sunflower, and lotus, followed by a tasting of floral teas. Participants explored the philosophy of Bach flowers and took part in a sensory activity, experiencing the fragrances of different flowers and reflecting on the memories and emotions they evoked. A short introduction to the philosophy of the Japanese technique of Ikebana highlighted the values of harmony, simplicity and mindful living.
The afternoon continued with three interactive workshops: meditative Ikebana-inspired flower arrangement, flower art using natural floral stencils and creating customised floral mists and oils. Participants appreciated the opportunity to engage creatively while practicing mindfulness and self-expression.
The event concluded with participants sharing their experience, many sharing how the workshop helped them discover the depth of philosophy expressed through flowers, while others reflected on lessons of impermanence and living in the present moment.
