On 03rd June 2023, New Acropolis Pune hosted an interactive talk titled “Daring to Choose – Insights from ‘The Matrix’”. Drawing parallel from the profound allegory of Cave by Plato and ‘The Matrix’ movie, the speaker emphasised on the relevance of the idea of living in the ‘cave of illusion’ in our times today.
Sharing symbolic interpretations of the various characters in the movie, the speaker brought a new perspective to the journey of the protagonist ‘Neo’ who makes a choice to leave the matrix in the search of truth. The speaker connected the idea of freedom of choice and therefore its consequences to our lives today which can lead to a positive impact in one’s own self and in turn the society.
