In response to the aftermath of cyclone Fani in Odisha, New Acropolis (Main Centre) conducted a donation drive to collect food and other non perishable items in collaboration with Goonj, an NGO known for its work in disaster relief and humanitarian aid in India.
Members came forward to support the displaced families, with contributions resulting in half a tonne of rice, and over 150kgs of pulses, sugar and salt. In addition, oral rehydration supplements were also collected. These items were packed in individual kits for easy distribution by Goonj in the affected areas.
In this small way, New Acropolis members took the opportunity to express their natural concern and solidarity with those affected by this natural disaster.
