On Saturday 4th May 2019, New Acropolis (Pune Branch) hosted a talk titled “Epictetus on Freedom”.  Exploring the principles of Stoic philosophy, the talk suggested that we always have the freedom to choose how to respond to our circumstances, no matter how tough they seem. The talk investigated the life of Roman slave Epictetus shedding light on his indomitable inner strength, due to which he was considered the freest man in Rome. The talk suggested that the Stoic attitude of taking responsibility of one’s emotions can best help us to move forward in our lives.
