On 2nd August 2019, The Culture Circle of New Acropolis hosted a talk at the Colaba Centre by prominent architect Parul Zaveri titled “Heritage, the Foundation of the Future: An Architects Journey.” Parul Zaveri and Nimish Patel together established an architectural design consultancy in Ahmedabad called Abhikram, with the objective of creating building designs that are “functionally, psychologically, environmentally and spiritually more contextual and comfortable for all”.

The talk explored the richness of the Indian architectural heritage, filled with scientifically sound designs that tackle issues like water conservation, minimal electricity usage, natural cooling systems and waste disposal.

The talk presented examples of various restoration works which include Shiv Nivas Palace (Udaipur), Bharatpur Palace and the Chanwar Palkhiwalon ki Haveli (Amber), for which they won the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Conservation Award in 2000.
