For over six decades New Acropolis International Organization has been striving to bring philosophy to everyday life. Our approach involves a revival of the idea of a School of Philosophy in the classical tradition and continuing the quest for the human being’s search for wisdom. In antiquity, these schools – such as Plato’s Academy, Aristotle’s Lyceum or the Neoplatonic School of Alexandria – helped to inject new vitality and to give new direction to the societies of their times. This need for renewal re-emerged in the middle of the 20th century, with deep roots in the classical tradition and a forward-looking vision towards the 3rd millennium.
Based on the three principles of Fraternity, Knowledge and Development New Acropolis aims at providing a balanced and all-round development of oneself, and the actualization of the best qualities and values of our human nature which are probably the only guarantee of moving towards a new and better world.
