The Pune branch of New Acropolis commemorated International Mother Earth Day 2026 with a two-day exhibition and interactive events held on April 18 and 19 at Monalisa Kalagram Pune. The exhibition titled “Biomimicry – Uniting Philosophy, Science, and Nature,” invited visitors to explore how natural systems inspire human innovation.
The exhibition presented a journey from wonder to wisdom displaying how nature’s designs have led to practical innovations—ranging from sun protection inspired by the human eye to vaccine storage methods influenced by the resilience of microscopic organisms like tardigrades.
The exhibits further explored natural principles such as efficiency, rhythm, and strength as observed around us encouraging a shift from human-centric to life-centric approaches in innovation.
Interactive activities based on the elements of earth, water, air, and fire offered attendees experiential opportunities to connect with nature. The exhibition was conceptualized and executed by volunteer members and students of the Living Philosophy course
The event finale was a talk and discussion featuring biomimicry educator and co-founder of the Biomimicry India Network, Prashant Dhawan a conversation moderated by Dr. Shraddha Shetty, Branch Manager of New Acropolis Pune.
The dialogue explored philosophical questions such as the nature of reality, ethics, and humanity’s relationship with the natural world.
Speakers called for a return to ethical living aligned with principles, underscoring values such as efficiency, sustainability, and harmony.
Discussions also examined the concept of belonging, urging a move from survival-driven thinking to a more holistic sense of thriving in alignment with nature. Practical suggestions included cultivating solitude, observation, and regular engagement with natural environments to foster deeper awareness and connection.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants explored ways to incorporate biomimicry into daily life.
This initiative was among the many events hosted across New Acropolis centers in over 50 countries, centered on the theme “Philosophy and Science.”
