New Acropolis Main Centre hosted a talk titled “In Search of Meaning” on 3 June 2026. Drawing inspiration from Viktor Frankl’s influential work Man’s Search for Meaning, the talk explored the timeless human search for Purpose and Meaning in life. The speaker explored Frankl’s central idea that the search for meaning is a fundamental human drive and reflected on how this can be discovered even amidst adversity and suffering.

Using references from the authors life experiences and his insights into human motivation, the speaker highlighted how a conscious and active pursuit of purpose enables us to face challenges with greater resilience and inner strength.  Meaning is actively created through our choices, attitudes, and actions.

The speaker also drew parallels from the teaching of the Buddha and the concept of “right tension,” sharing, how a healthy sense of inner striving can inspire  self-discovery.

Through an  interactive discussion and group reflection, participants explored their own stories of meaning and considered how purpose can provide direction during difficult times. The session concluded with the proposal that the study and practical application of philosophy can serve as a valuable guide in the ongoing search for meaning, helping us lead a more purposeful, resilient, and meaningful life.
