On September 10th 2017, Members of New Acropolis (Khar Branch) visited the Cardinal Gracias Home for the Destitute, home to 67 elderly homeless or abandoned women. The morning began with a few group activities, including some interactive story-telling and a song-dance medley of Bollywood oldies that had the elderly ladies all smiling, tapping their feet and even volunteering to shake a leg! Thereafter, New Acropolis members individually engaged with the ladies in deeper conversation, while applying creative mehendi designs on their palms. The ladies were eager to share stories from their lives, and allowed us to get to know them as individuals. It turns out, that our opportunity to share of ourselves, instead became a revealing opportunity for us to learn much about life!
