During the weeks of the lockdown in April 2020, New Acropolis India hosted a series of online engagement activities for members and Friends of New Acropolis titled ‘Philosophy in Corona Days’.

The activities were each led by senior members from various branches to come together as a philosophical fraternity and share practical skills including  workshops on yoga, dessert making, water colour painting, origami, and poetry, among others.

A few reviews from attendees of select sessions:

It was wonderful to see fellow members from Mumbai in today’s workshop and I learned that philosophy can be done with creativity and fun as well. Learning Origami as a tool for accuracy, perfection, patience and organisation is really helpful. I look forward to attending other workshops as well. (Shreyas, Pune Branch)

We had an insightful water color painting session on Friday. We were guided individually on how to use the water colors, using different techniques to mix the colors, gradation, and very importantly not to be afraid to make mistakes (not just in watercolors, but in life too). We completed a painting of a sunrise by the end of the workshop and all participants captured the beauty of the sun in their own way. Truly, this was an enriching experience; to be able to express through colors the simple but beautiful moments of life! (Krutika, Khar Branch)
